Graduate Student Gatherings in Chicago and Boston

Posted in Uncategorized on September 10, 2008 by Bill

Julius Nam sends this along:

Subject: Adventist Graduate Fellowship

Hello Friends,

Just wanted to let you know about two gatherings for Adventist graduate students that will take place in Chicago and Boston in November.

  • Chicago: Sunday, November 2, 6:30-8:30pm @ Tamarind restaurant on Michigan Avenue (tentative location)
  • Boston: Saturday, November 22, 6:30-8:30pm @ Bangkok City Boston restaurant on Massachusetts Avenue (tentative location)

The fellowship will begin with free dinner, followed by an hour of structured conversation on Adventism, graduate studies, career directions and … maybe even love.

Organized by Adventist Christian Fellowship [ACF] (the campus ministry arm of the North American Division of SDAs), the two gatherings will coincide with two major conferences for those in religious studies – American Academy of Religion (Chicago) and Society for Biblical Literature (Boston). However, this gathering is intended to be a new beginning of organized fellowship for Adventist graduate students in ALL disciplines. The goal is to provide support, encouragement, and networking opportunities.

If you know any Adventist graduate student in greater Chicago and Boston regions, please let them know and let us know!

Contact: Ron Pickell (Director of ACF; rpickell at mac dot com). Ron’s “day job” is senior pastor of the Berkeley SDA Church. This is really Ron’s project which I’m glad to help out in.
