I’ve been around long enough to experience some of satan’s strategies a time or two. IGNITION will prove no different since we have shown up on the devil’s radar.
At IGNITION, several of our prayer team members met with significant obstacles, including unexplainable physical illness. As for Dee and me, the devil knows our achilles heel: While we were in Dallas, hundreds of miles away our daughter was spiking temperatures that came from nowhere. Although with trusted young adult friends, there is nothing worse for a parent than to not be there when your child is ill.
Several of our presenters had a horrendous time either getting to Dallas or returning home. And some upon return, have been met with all sorts of problems in their personal and professional lives.
Of course, there is one of the devil’s best barbs — busy-ness. After a gathering like IGNITION, it always seems like our “real” responsibilities have stacked more into the “to do” pile. The luxury of worship, reflection, fellowship, and consecration seem like distant memories. This obviously is the insideous efforts of the evil one to distract, detract, and derail your growing devotion to Jesus and His cause.
Basically this means WAR.
Fueled by worship, we have declared whose side we are on.
Ignited to disciple, we are equipping and empowering others.
Sparking a revolution, we see the world with different eyes. . . Eyes that percieve an unseen Kingdom and are willing to pay the cost to live Kingdom-lives.
Warring with the principalities, especially unseen ones can be nerve-racking, however Philippians 4:6-7 reminds us:
“Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to GOD. And the peace of GOD, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.”
No doubt you are going through something–apathy, adversity, anxiety, aloneness, attack, etc. This is war. But know full well that what GOD has started in you, what He has IGNITED in you, He will complete. This is war, but we know Who wins.
